Print Michel Poort

Michel Poort (born 1960 in Hilversum) is a Dutch artist known for his expressive and colorful artwork, centered around the heart. His artistic journey began with sports illustrations in the 1980s, followed by a period of colorful work featuring people and animals. In the 1990s, he experimented with various styles and techniques, ultimately leading to his focus on the heart as a symbol of love and connection.
In 2015, Poort reached a low point in his life, losing his love, financial stability, and passion for art. A chance encounter in the Balinese jungle brought about a turning point. After months of soul-searching, he returned to the Netherlands with a new mission: to make the world "work" again. Since then, he has dedicated his art to the heart, using various materials such as wood, metal, clay, paper, resin, and wax to create hearts. These sculptures are then photographed and printed on materials like aluminum, resulting in unique works of art that are beloved worldwide.
